What to Prepare
Evaluate your cloud systems and infrastructure background against published criteria and automation focus areas.
B.E / B.Tech / MCA / B.Sc
Hiring evaluations prioritize demonstrable problem-solving, domain competence, and practical project evidence over specific degree pedigree.
Cloud services (AWS / Azure / GCP) and systems infrastructure.
Understand compute instances, virtual private clouds (VPCs), storage tiers, IAM security boundaries, and infrastructure-as-code principles.
Containerization, automation pipelines, and deployment tooling.
Master Docker multi-stage builds, container networking basics, CI/CD pipeline triggers (GitHub Actions), and fundamental Linux sysadmin commands.
Basic understanding of data storage, serialization, and persistence.
Be prepared to explain relational normalization (1NF-3NF), indexing trade-offs, foreign key constraints, and transactional consistency.
Familiarity with Git branching, pull requests, and collaborative repository management.
Review Git branch workflows, pull request code reviews, and maintain clean commit history with descriptive messages.
Onsite (Bengaluru, India) operational structure.
Highlight proactive written communication, technical documentation discipline, and the ability to troubleshoot errors systematically before escalating.
Technical Topics
Depending on the hiring team’s evaluation style, technical assessments for this role typically cover these core areas:
Topic 1: Cloud Architecture, Networking & IAM Security
- Core cloud primitives (EC2/VMs, VPCs, subnets, route tables, security groups)
- Identity and Access Management (least privilege principles, role delegation)
- Storage tiers (S3/Blob, block storage) and database connectivity
Topic 2: Containerization & Docker Best Practices
- Writing clean, multi-stage Dockerfiles for minimal image size
- Container networking, volume mounts, and environment configuration
- Container security: running non-root users, vulnerability scanning
Topic 3: CI/CD Pipelines & Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Building automated CI/CD workflows (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins)
- Declarative infrastructure templates (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- State file management, plan validation, and automated rollback strategies
Topic 4: Observability, Logging & Site Reliability (SRE)
- Monitoring metrics, distributed tracing, and centralized logging
- Formulating Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Error Budgets
- High-availability failover, health checks, and autoscaling triggers
Topic 5: Incident Response, Post-Mortems & Operational Excellence
